Root Canal Therapy
A root canal is the space within the root of your tooth. Each of your teeth have a small network of nerves and blood vessels inside of it. Root canals are the tiny passageways that contains these nerves, coursing their way until they reach the end of the root. When you want to avoid pulling a tooth after an infection that reaches the inner tooth, a root canal procedure is performed, which removes the contents of the canals, cleans them, seals them and fills them. Sometimes a crown is also added.
Toothaches
A toothache is painful! Fortunately, most toothaches can be prevented by visiting your dentist for regular check ups and maintaining good oral hygiene. Unfortunately, many people wait until they have a severe toothache before going to the dentist. The most common cause of a toothache is a cavity. The second most common cause is gum disease. It could also be caused by an exposed root or by a cracked or broken tooth. Sometimes a toothache originates somewhere else in your body. But no matter what the cause, you need to see your dentist as soon as possible for an evaluation and the treatment that you need!
